RP states that she runs a dog rescue charity from her home. She states that she had piled up some dog crates onto her drive and was in the process of taking them to the storage unit nearby. She sorted them out into 2 piles and did one run and then came back for the remainder and they had gone. She states that 2 of her neighbours contacted her to say that they had seen 2 unknown males pull up in a van and then load up the crates and drive off. RP states they were selective in which ones they stole as some were broken.

Looking back over 2021 Wiltshire Council’s Dog Wardens were busy helping reunite dogs with their owners and finding some of them new loving homes. In total the Dog Warden team received 438 calls regarding stray dogs, they needed to take 113 dogs to kennels and 68 of those were claimed by their owners.
It was a busy year for the team and they have a fantastic working relationship with their stray kennels at Bath Cats and Dogs Home to ensure dogs get the best care and those that remain unclaimed from them go on to find loving new families to be part of.

The Dog Wardens have seen a rise in dog-on-dog attack reports of 41% since 2019 and would like to remind everyone that this type of incident should always be reported to the Dog Wardens @ Wiltshire Council as soon as possible so they can carry out an investigation.

Dog v Human Police- Dangerous dogs. Dogs which have attacked or you fear will attack a person are dealt with by the police. If you have any worries about an out of control dog please call Wiltshire Police on 101.

RSPCA Mistreatment of animals should be reported to the RSPCA on 0300 1234 999
